Bethel Community Storehouse
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
The Bethel Community Storehouse in Moriarty, New Mexico, was established in April 1987 by the Bethel United Methodist Church Missions Outreach to provide food and clothing to those in need. In December of 1989, it expanded
to a community wide program and was incorporated as a non-profit entity in February 1991.
Membership on the Board of Directors includes representatives from various churches and organizations in the surrounding area.
A permanent home for the Storehouse was purchased in February 1991 and is located on the corner of Highway 41 and Center Street in Moriarty, New Mexico. In 2002, an 8000 sq. ft. store was added on and the original building was remodeled to include a reception room for our clients, a large food pantry, a larger sorting area and an office.
What is our Purpose?
Bethel is here to assist the homeless and impoverished population of the Greater Estancia Valley and to fullfill the scriptural mandate from Matthew 25:40 "In as much as you have done it to the least of these my brothers and sisters, you have done it unto me."
